Day-by-day itinerary

Day 01 Arrive Ashgabat

Upon arriving at Ashgabat International Airport, you will be greeted by local representatives and transferred to your hotel. Afterwards, embark on a city tour to the Wedding Palace, the giant indoor Ferris Wheel, the Constitution Monument, the Arch of Neutrality, Independence Park, the Ottoman-style Ertugrul Gazi Mosque, and the Ashgabat Olympic Stadium. The day concludes with an overnight stay at your hotel in Ashgabat.

Day 02 Ashgabat – Gokdepe – Ashgabat

Breakfast at hotel and proceed visit the Parthian ruins of Nissa before venturing past modern Arkadag to Gokdepe. There, encounters with prized Akhalteke horses and historic battlegrounds give way to an immersive afternoon with a local family, mastering Turkmen crafts, baking traditional bread, and sharing a home-cooked lunch. The day wraps up at the grand Kipchak Mosque and the colorful stalls of Gulistan Bazaar. After tour ends, transfer back to your hotel.

Day 03 Ashgabat – Darwaza

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the rare textiles at the Turkmen Carpet Museum then the road heads north into the vast Karakum Desert. A brief stop in the village of Yerbent offers a glimpse into desert life before reaching the fiery depths of the Darvaza Gas Crater. Afterwards, complete with a barbecue dinner and a stay in traditional yurts.

Day 04 Darwaza – Ashgabat

After breakfast, transfer back to Ashgabat. The afternoon is spent browsing the extensive archaeological collections at the National Museum, followed by a visit to the hilltop Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex to reflect on the nation’s past triumphs and tragedies. After tour ends, transfer to hotel and rest.

Day 05 Ashgabat – Mary

After breakfast at the hotel, trace historic Silk Road caravan trails toward Mary, stopping at the 15th-century Anau Mosque ruins and the ancient trading hub of Abiwerd. In Mary, discover priceless Merv antiquities at the Mary Regional Museum, visit local architectural landmarks, and browse the vibrant city bazaar. After tour ends, transfer to your hotel and rest.

Day 06 Mary – Farap – Bukhara

Breakfast at the hotel. Step back in time at UNESCO-listed Ancient Merv, once one of the greatest metropolises of the Islamic world. Marvel at imposing mudbrick fortresses like Gyz Gala and the magnificent 12th-century Soltan Sanjar Mausoleum. Bid farewell to Turkmenistan at the Farap border, meet the Uzbek host team, and take a scenic transfer to the medieval gem of Bukhara.

Day 07 Bukhara – Samarkand

After breakfast, discover Bukhara’s historic core on foot, visiting the colossal Ark Citadel, the Samanids Mausoleum, and the iconic Kalyan Minaret. Stroll through medieval domed trading bazaars and the scenic Lyabi Hauz plaza before boarding an evening high-speed train to Samarkand.

Day 08 Samarkand

After breakfast, visit Tamerlane’s imperial capital, featuring the tiled grandeur of Registan Square, the Gur Emir Mausoleum, and the vibrant Siab Market. Continue to the turquoise tombs of Shah-i-Zinda and witness traditional silk paper crafting at the historic Konigil Paper Mill. After tour ends, transfer back to the hotel.

Day 09 Samarkand – Tashkent

After breakfast at the hotel, explore Samarkand’s rich cultural legacy at the Afrasiab Museum, famous for its 7th-century royal frescoes, and the medieval Ulugh Beg Observatory. After taking in local artisan traditions, board a high-speed express train to Uzbekistan’s modern capital, Tashkent.
