Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Ulaanbaatar

Upon arrival, you will meet your tour guide and transfer to Sukhbaatar Square, the central square of Ulaanbaatar named after the national hero Damdin Sukhbaatar. From there, visit the Parliament House, the seat of Mongolia’s government and an important political landmark, followed by the Soviet War Memorial, a monument honoring Soviet soldiers that also offers views of the city. In the evening, enjoy a Traditional Mongolian Song and Dance Performance, a cultural show that highlights Mongolia’s rich nomadic heritage through music and dance. After dinner, transfer to your hotel in Ulaanbaatar for check-in.

Day 2 Ulaanbaatar - Else Tasarkhai

After breakfast, proceed to Elsen Tasarkhai, a picturesque desert area in Mongolia often called the “Mini Gobi,” where you can enjoy rolling sand dunes, camel rides, nature walks, and the vast desert scenery. Next, visit Khongor Khan Mountain, a scenic area known for its rugged peaks, beautiful landscapes, and opportunities for hiking and exploring Mongolia’s natural beauty. After dinner, transfer back to Elsen Tasarkhai for check-in.

Day 3 Elses Tasarkhai - Kharakhorin (2 Hours)

After breakfast, visit the Khalakhalin Museum, which showcases the history, culture, and traditions of the local Mongolian people through artifacts, exhibits, and traditional crafts. Then, experience authentic Mongolian nomadic life by visiting a local herder’s family, learning about their daily routines, traditions, and enjoying their traditional food and hospitality. Day 4 Kharakhorin - Ulaanbaatar (5 Hours)

After breakfast, visit Erdene Zuu Monastery, one of Mongolia’s oldest and most important Buddhist monasteries built in the 16th century, featuring traditional temples, stupas, and historical artifacts. Explore the 108 Stupas, a unique collection of small Buddhist stupas surrounding the monastery, symbolizing spiritual significance, and the Wanfu Palace Ruins, the remains of a historic palace within the complex that reflect Mongolia’s religious architectural heritage. Continue to Turtle Rock, a natural formation resembling a turtle, and then to Phallic Rock & Yin-Xue Slope, distinctive rock formations with cultural and historical significance in local folklore. Day 5 Ulaanbaatar (2 Hours)

After breakfast, visit Gandan Monastery, one of Mongolia’s largest and most important Buddhist monasteries, known for its grand temples and vibrant religious activities. Continue to the National Museum of Mongolia, which showcases the country’s rich history, culture, and ethnography through extensive artifacts and exhibits, and then explore the Genghis Khan Statue Museum, dedicated to the life and legacy of Genghis Khan, accompanied by the famous giant equestrian statue. Afterward, head to Terelj National Park, a scenic area with rolling hills, rock formations, rivers, and opportunities for hiking and outdoor activities. While in the park, see Turtle Rock, a natural formation resembling a turtle, visit the Three Friends Cave, known for its natural beauty and cultural significance, and explore the serene Aribala Meditation Monastery, reflecting traditional Mongolian Buddhist practices. Continue to the State Department Store, a popular shopping landmark offering a wide variety of local products, souvenirs, and daily goods, and then stop at the Gobi Cashmere Store, a specialty shop showcasing high-quality Mongolian cashmere products, including sweaters, scarves, and garments made from premium Gobi Desert cashmere.
